Phuket, Thailand and Phang Nga Bay

We docked in Phuket in the early morning and immediately disembarked for an extended bus trip to the mainland and Phang Nga Bay. We had been warned that Phuket was touristy and it surely is - consequently, it is also clean.
We learned all about making rubber in a massive plantation. We visited working elephants and evaded monkeys who pick coconuts all day for a bunch of bananas!

Phang Nga Bay is a large shallow bay with 140 islands of which James Bond Island (The Man With The Golden Gun) is the most visited one. The last pic in this posting is of that island. En route we docked at a Muslim village on stilts, totally self-contained with a school, fish farms and markets. The views were amazing with limestone cliffs and tunnels.
