The division of Boga, two and a half hours inland is more rural but the city itself has 1.5 million. There were so many innovative modes of human and commercial transport. Fields and fields of rice paddies, bullocks, stilted thatched houses and water buffalo abound.
Skilled potters, many beggars and open-air shops were everywhere.
At the Kwakhatwaing Monastery we watched 600 monks line up to be fed their lunch. David assisted with dishing out the rice.
The last picture shows the predictable results of chewing betel nuts.
