Our last tour in Myanmar wound up with visits to the museum (no pics allowed there) and to the river port where vast amounts of rice, produce and dry goods were being shipped via smaller vessels. The military government has stopped dredging the river so larger ships no longer enter - most of the previous custom buildings and warehouses have been abandoned and the capital has been moved inland to near Mandalay - 300 km away.
The museum provided a historical perspective but many of the originals have also been moved to the new capital.

We have not been sending too many emails but we do like getting them.
